Adopted at four months old from Planned Pethood in Zephyrhills, Florida. She joins a family that has rescued over ten dogs. Precious is my first pet. My son and I went to pick her up, and she melted our hearts instantly. On the ride home, I kept saying how precious she was, and my son replied, “I guess you have her name!” Precious officially became a part of our family at that very momen
I knew she was going to be a great dog when she stood by the back door and looked at us; she was letting us know it was time to go potty.
We were watching television one day and I thought how lovely she looked on the staircase chewing her bone. Later, we discovered she was gnawing on the wooden spindles of the railing.
She loves to give kisses! She enjoys eating and delights in fresh food and wholesome treats. She will give you a paw when she is ready for her meal or treat.
We keep our interior doors slightly open at home when working. She will bump the door open and then wants a belly rub from my husband as he works from his desk. If my husband has been watching TV for long, Precious will bark to get his undivided attention.
Her first bath in a large tub was a disaster. She jumped out and ran through the house. We then tried a bath with a water hose, and that was the secret. She loves the water hose! On very hot days she gets cooled off and has so much fun!
Her Body Language is Priceless
It is also required that I take her for long walks. I have trained her to sit when a car or truck goes by, and I will give her a treat for being a good girl. The little Diva tries to con me at times. She will see a car making a turn two block away, she sits, and looks at me with anticipation, “Where is my treat?”. She is very protective of our home and lets us know when Amazon or UPS is nearby. When someone walks by our home, she makes us aware and gets a treat for being so protective
